That's it. With the settings & mods listed above, I was able to get a really good playable experience with controller on Minecraft Java. A lot of this info was already on the internet, But scattered all over the place. Hopefully some Minecraft Bedrock/controller players wanting to get into Java, Find this info useful.
Hi there! My goal is to play Minecraft with a controller. So far I was able to connect the controller to my PC. Then I've noticed that Minecraft Java doesn't support controllers by default. After a bit of research I've come across a Youtuber who recommended Controllabe, in combination with Forge.
A couple of days ago, I changed from Bedrock to Java for some extensions etc. However, the past 5 years I've only been playing with PS4 controllers, and I really dislike playing with keyboard since it'll require me to relearn the game basically from scratch. So, does anybody know how I could connect a ps4 controller to Minecraft Java on windows?

MCGamepad MCGamepad is a small Forge mod that uses the LWJGL JInput bindings to provide gamepad controls to Minecraft. I watched a bunch of tutorials, manually set up my controls through Big Picture Mode to be the same as the controls on the PS4, I unchecked "Allow Desktop Configuration in Launcher" since it causes issues, I make sure to run it through BPM, and yet it's still not working. The strange thing is that when it opens the Launcher, it works perfectly.
