WS2812B is a intelligent control LED light source that the control circuit and RGB chip are integrated in a package of 5050 components. It internal include intelligent digital port data latch and signal reshaping amplification drive circuit.
This post is about the WS2812B LED strip, which is an addressable RGB LED strip. The information in this post also works with other similar LED strips, such as strips of the WS28XX family, Neopixel strip and others.
Learn how to use Arduino to control WS2812B RGB LED strip, how to control color and brightness of each individual LED on the strip, how to program Arduino step by step.
WS2812B, also known as NeoPixel, is an individually addressable RGB LED. With WS2812B, you can control the color and brightness of each LED on the strip separately, making it a unique lighting solution. WS2812B is an upgraded version of WS2812, known for its vibrant colors and easy connectivity.
The WS2812B (or "NeoPixel") may look like a common 5050-sized (5x5mm) SMD LED, but there’s actually an integrated control circuit embedded inside there too. If you look really hard, you can see the tiny black chip hidden in there, along with minuscule gold wires connecting the chip to the LED.
Intelligent reverse connect protection, the power supply reverse connection does not damage the IC. The control circuit and the LED share the only power source. Control circuit and RGB chip are integrated in a package of 5050 components, form a complete control of pixel point.
